Matte, copper is defined as :
"Substance resulting from metallurgic processing of primary and secondary sources. The matte is obtained from copper ore/concentrate and recycled materials. It is composed primarily of copper and copper, iron and lead sulphides with minor sulphides of other metals."
The Joint Registration dossier was successfully submitted to ECHA on 24th September 2010. Members of the ECI-managed Consortium, along with any purchasers of the appropriate Letter of Access, were provided with the necessary documents, plus the required REACH IT security token.
ECI's REACH Classification, Labelling and Packaging proposals for Matte, copper have been assessed in the REACH dossier in accordance with Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 and the CLP Regulation (EC) 1272/2008. The rationales for these proposals are contained in the Joint Submission dossier submitted to ECHA by the Lead Registrant.
1. Matte, copper - Grade 1 (50% < Cu ≤ 80%, max Ni < 1%, max As < 2%, max Co < 0.1% and max Pb < 0.9%)
2. Matte, copper - Grade 2 (50% < Cu ≤ 80%, max Ni < 1%, max As < 2%, Co ≥ 0.1% and 0.9 ≤ Pb ≤ 6%)
